IV: The Emperor

6/29/2016

"I'm not interested in preserving the status quo; I want to overthrow it."
~ Machiavelli
Picture
Where the Empress looks for new opportunities to help others, the Emperor has used those opportunities to help himself. This is the step wherein one is working to make good on those options presented.

It is a difficult state to engage in and make good on, as this is the start of the entrepreneur.  As the newly fledged Emperor begins to cut his teeth in his chosen industry, there's a high likelihood that he will encounter difficulties. I would recommend the following foci:
  • Obstacle removal
  • Luck work
  • Generate positive attention

Look to escape your comfort zone. New opportunties don't tend to present themselves to those who are stuck in a routine.

“Sometimes, it is how you shine in the darkness during other people's misery that is remembered more than anything you could have said or done when you have suffered just as much.”

~ Shannon L. Alder
Picture
As you endeavor to interact with your peers and find yourself being approached, socialize. Create bonds with others worth being involved with, and watch for how to fulfill their needs.

A good Empress is aware of the Kingdom and takes care of its needs as best as she is able. This is particularly difficult for men, but not doing so is a poor choice.

Should the opportunity arise to take a trip of the social variety, analyze it to see if it is worthwhile. If so, do so. This will deepen those bonds.

Suggested Rites:
  • Work to make social interactions easier
  • Create friendships
  • Work to become comfortable with yourself

II: The High Priestess

"As powerful as is our soul's call, so potent are the forces of Resistance arrayed against it. We're not alone if we've been mowed down by Resistance; millions of good men and women have bitten the dust before us."
-Steven Pressfield
Picture
Where the preceding step is all about cultivating friends and using your skills to generate positive interest, the High Priestess focuses on letting those connections work for her.

There are times where your success will lead to you being approached by others who respect and/or covet it. Those new-forged political connections will be put to the test, and so your skill at public relations will decide much here.

I suggest you keep an open mind, keen eyes, and watch what goes on around you as all of this is going on. You'll want to be aware of the professed needs and wants of others, as what they tell you may be useful later.

Workings meant to enrich your experience and empower you during this:
  • Sweetening work
  • Ablute yourself
  • Enchant for understanding

As you watch and wait, take notes. Look for opportunities others don't see.

“It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection.”
~The Bhagavad Gita
Picture
The next step on our journey is to become the Magus. In so doing, we sieze the opportunities that present themselves to us and use our skills to exce;, win the respect of others, and set ourselves up for greater things.

This stage is political, in its own way, as excellence can often come at the cost of the respect of our peers. Our own ability to rise and overcome can create jealousy, so beware the ones who might learn of your intentions and seek to keep you down.

The following rites are recommended:
  • Enchant for friendship
  • Enchant for stealth
  • Ensorcell for allies

If you're smart and play your cards right, the next stage will quickly be upon you.

0: The Fool

"Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my People Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins..."
~ I Kings 16, verse 2
Picture
Every journey must start somewhere. No road can be walked without a beginning, no matter where that is. Be it the slums, the barrio, the ghetto, Middle America, or the Ritz, each of our journeys begin somewhere, some place, some time.

The first step, within the Fool's Journey, is the Fool. The wise among us realizes that this never changes: just the trappings do. And so when the wise Fool loses his coveted seat, he begins anew and seeks to reinvent himself. To learn from the most recent adventure and so arm himself for the next one.

At this beginning of beginnings, I recommend that you strap on your sandles and begin with the following rites:
  • Healing to recover from that tragedy which beset you
  • Road opening work
  • Blessings

With those, we begin.

The Fool's Journey: A Beginning

"It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live."

-Marcus Aurelius
Greetings, folks. I hope the day finds you well-rested, bright-eyed, and bushy-tailed.

Some time ago, I mentioned in passing how life can periodically seek to reduce you to nothing. When this happens, and you find yourself hitting or approaching rock bottom, you're experiencing the Fool's Journey as it plays out in your life. The same applies as you achieve greater things in life, as we all feel as though we're starting over at one point or another. Sometimes, the positive event that can leave you feeling this way is a promotion or change in social group - it can feel disarming and alarming.

The Fool's Journey is a pervasive motif, and we can all learn from it and use it. Its not a strict procession, but rather a guideline.

This series of articles seeks to guide you and enrich your life. You're welcome to consider these articles and the tips therein a pathworking if this works for you.

Happy reading/growing.

A day of merryment, joy, and enlightenment, its now high time to do works like cleaning your home, blessing one another, and opening roads around you. If you're magically inclined, I highly recommend using this to suit your needs, and I hope you enjoy your day.

Blessings!

May the dead find peace and may the loved ones they've left behind be supported through this difficult time.

I didn't know these folks, nor their families, but that doesn't mean the loss goes unmourned or unfelt. Each of these individuals, regardless of personal standing, belief, choices, or experiences touched hundreds of lives through their day to day interactions. Their every act rippled out from the epicenter, and thousands were ultimately affected by their lives. Their deaths, too, shall go on to impact millions.

The web of life all around us has had too many of its threads ripped out, this past weekend. Join me in prayer, give offerings, and ask that the powers you believe in ferry these souls forth. Then wipe your tears, take heart, and be vigilant alongside me. It doesn't take a genius to see that dark days are coming, so we must band together.

Blessings,
Christopher/SE

Food for thought

I stumbled across this quote earlier today, and it struck a chord with me. Thought I'd share it here:

“Admit it. You aren’t like them.

You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the “normal people” as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like “Have a nice day” and “Weather’s awful today, eh?”, you yearn inside to say forbidden things like “Tell me something that makes you cry” or “What do you think deja vu is for?”. Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on conversation with a stranger? Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected.

Find the others.”

~ Timothy Leary

Have a wonderful Friday and a safe weekend.

Special: Ghob Gris Gris

EDIT: Greetings folks!

Hope the day is treating each of you well. I've got something of a special opportunity for you guys, hence the reason for this post.

Not too long ago, a client asked that I conjure Ghob for him, as he needed help growing his business, strengthening his financial foundation, and attracting more clients. The rite went beautifully, and Ghob had asked that I use the leftover materia to make a series of gris gris (or mojo) bags and distribute them to clients who have need of this wee genius' help.

The client in question approved of this plan, and so I now offer these to you. A total of seven were made - one for the original client, four to be sold, one to be gifted away, and one to link them. Three now remain.

If you're interested, they will be disseminated at a first-come-first-served basis. The cost is 150$ + shipping, and these are available to all who are interested. I am willing to ship internationally if there's a call to do so.

If this post rouses something more than curiousity in you, click the payment link below. We'll then sort out shipping seperately. If you are on the fence, I suggest giving this post a read. :)

Regards,
SE
