When you experience loss, be it of a valued item, an important friendship, or the natural end to the life of a loved one, it’s natural to go through a grieving process. Something has ended & something else has begun anew on account of that end....this is not always something we handle with grace.
But we can certainly attempt to do so. After I wrote these words, I went out to grab burgers and milkshakes because that’s what Scott would have wanted. He was that kind of guy, and in the wake of his passing I’ve performed Last Rites for him to honor his memory & ensure that his soul passes on appropriately/correctly.
That’s how I make my peace with this. If you’ve experienced loss, I would suggest that you find some manner of ritual act and mundane means of grounding that energy out. It doesn’t need to be grandiose or amazingly, but it does need to be done as a means of finding closure.
Blessings to the living and the dead. Rest In Peace my friend.
