It has been a whole ass process, and while I am extremely proud of myself, I recognize that I still have further to go. This post arises out of the depths of these contemplations, and I share these thoughts with you in the hopes that I can catalyze further growth for you without you having to do the same kind of heavy lifting. Consider this a compassionate contribution to your cause and contemplate how to give this forward. That's part of the exchange and part of internalizing these teachings, as we really do have to get into the space of doing a thing to really understand it.
Anything less is lip service. With that in mind, let's dive in. ((Ready, go!))
A great many of you know that my own experiences of the occult and of metaphysical healing have arisen out of great personal news. My life was not a happy one, and my experiences normalized pain and heartbreak on a deeply personal level from which I could not easily escape. That's what happens when you're not afforded many luxuries, and this tends to normalize "lows".
Our brains are designed for averages, and we tend to gravitate towards whatever our average set state is. Anything that steps outside of that particular "range of normal" becomes threatening and unfamiliar. If legitimate happiness is your normal, sad days become more threatening.....the same tendencies happen in the reverse too!
If you're used to bullshit, bullshit is your normal - that means that anything outside of the normal you see every damn day is threatening and new. Anxiety brain goes into overdrive and people tend to find themselves deeply overwhelmed. This is normal, and it sucks! Getting yourself outside of that pattern is not easy and it takes a substantial amount of work, starting with all of the stuff inside of your head.
Recognizing that your brain is built for pretty specific things, you are afforded an opportunity that might just be unique to humans: you get to make a point of digging deep into your behavior patterns, and you can change that simply by doing things differently day by day. If you want to change the world inside of you and out, change the way you think. Embrace different things and challenge the status quo by doing things that bring you LASTING happiness & joy. Live in the moment without forgetting your future and gently increase the quality of your days by seeking out experiences that bring you happiness and a vigor for life. Do this and you'll find that your life experience rather drastically improves. Do this with magick & you'll find yourself transported to different life experiences in ways that surprise you.
It's amazing how much of a difference this can make - I happen to be living proof of that! My life is so much better now that I find myself experiencing moments of depression purely for getting too happy. After a lifetime of bullshit, I can deal with that!
Blessings, folx. Have a good one. I hope you reflect on this a while.
