As a continuation to the series of posts I've been writing, our next step in the Spirit Work Tree is Pacts, the second of three types of relationships.
Previously, we discussed worship and how to get started, and now we're on to a more formal arrangement.
I've discussed pacts, the associated processes, and the mechanics thereof several times before. The last time was in 2013, and it seems that its high time I covered the subject again, per requests from clients and other interested parties. The subject has come up more than a dozen times over the past few weeks.
Pacting is a sorely misunderstood subject that seems far too easy to misunderstand. This is a bit amusing to me because the premise behind it is simple: its a tit for tat relationship. Rather than having such a relationship with a person, instead you're endeavoring to create such a relationship with a spirit. The concept isn't complicated, but folks really like to make it into a convoluted affair.

Rather than having such a relationship with a person, instead you're endeavoring to create such a relationship with a spirit. A pact is a contract, much like a business deal. In business, a contract is written up between two or more parties, and it details where and how money and resources change hands, who has what responsibilities, and what the rules of said arrangement will be. When dealing with small business owners, the contracts are simple and easily understood.
When dealing with big business, that's often not the case. In effect, the more powerful spirits one can evoke and interact with are, in many respects, their own big business. They have a name and a brand to protect, lest word get out that they're particularly fair, unfair, etc. depending on what they want. With that being the case, your job, if you want to establish a pact, is to find out what they want and determine whether or not you're actually willing to provide it.
The idea and focus of a pact/spirit contract doesn't change depend on who you're working for. Its a theme that always stays the same, and only the terms, conditions, and spirit change. You don't change that much, so handling your end of business first is something you can control directly.
Hopefully this concept makes sense, as we're building upon it.

The easiest way to apply for a protection-centered pact is to focus on connecting with your Holy Guardian Angel, Higher Self, Personal Guardian Angel (or whatever name/title you want to lend to it). This being became invested in you and your well-being before your birth, and as such its goal is to protect you, see you grow, and eventually see you connect to the Divine. To be holy, as it were. With that in mind, its terms are going to be far gentler than other spirits, and so its a good starting point.
I talked about connecting with one's HGA in the past, so click here if you want to read the post. The nifty thing is that the sigil included therein can be used here to connect with your HGA and establish a pact. Here's the sigil:

To connect, I suggest that you scrawl that sigil on a piece of paper or print it, imbue it with your energy, then say the following in rite:
Spirit held deep within, and loftily about
I approach you to ask for your aid
I've lived my life unaware & unprotected
Please set thyself about me and burn with radiance
Affixing your current to my bosom like a shield
Let my heart glow with your presence
Let your power flow through me
Causing me to grow and my energy to flow
Such that I can better achieve my goals and yours

Depending on your lifestyle, your diet, your disposition, etc. you may or may not have to repeat this time & time again. For some, this will come easily. For others, it will feel impossible.
If you fall into the latter category, you may feel as though the response you get indicates that you are not wanted. If that happens, its because you aren't ready to channel this sort of energy and essence, and its time to start doing things differently. Take stock of where you stand in life, change your diet, change your group of friends and adopt a healthier outlook, then try again. If you are wrongly attuned, it won't work for you.
If that's the case and even after making changes, you're still not able to connect, I suggest that you seek me out for professional aid.
For those of you who accomplish this with great ease, congratulations. You've made your first steps towards a new life.
