I've spent nearly all of my time working for clients and experiencing massive shifts in my worldview and, as a result, my personal practices. Some things have come into greater clarity, I've learned new techniques for doing things, and I've left many practices in the dust. It's been a refreshing half-return to the chrysalis, to be sure.
Perhaps one of the weirdest experiences I've had, as of late, involved the appearance of a bonafide water dragon from the Far East. While I've no idea if he's Japanese or Chinese, as he fits both well and doesn't give a damn about nationality, he's razed some interesting little tricks that seem fitting to be shared here.
I have to admit, when he first showed up during a morning meditation, I was scratching my head. I, for a long time, viewed dragons as mythological creatures that didn't actually exist save for in the minds of fluffy new-agers who didn't really have a clue what the hel was going on in the world. Now, I can't really say that I feel that way, as the experiences and insights have been proven to be authentic and very effective.
So, for a brief rundown, I'll provide a handful of tricks and cantrips for your uses.
1) To shake off a pest
When life's got you down because someone's being a pain in your rear, you can use this trick. You'll need two glasses, salt, pepper, and an object tied to the target - if you lack anything they used, go grab a ball of wax and carve something representing them into it. Take one glass and fill it with water of any sort. Bless the water and bless the other glass by praying to whatever power you hold dear; it matters not, provided you can empower the water appropriately. Once blessed, in the empty glass place 4 pinches of salt and 4 pinches of pepper, then pour the water in it, but don't overfill the glass.
As you do so, consider the person you're looking to get rid of, and feel this person flowing out of your life. When the glass is filled, drop in the object connected to the pest, and say the following cantrip:
"Waters of time, fate, actions
I change your flow to send this [name] away;
Out of my life and back into the seas of change"
Shake off the rite and let the (now mixed) glass be for a while. When you feel as though the work's fully done, take the filled glass out, and dump it out somewhere other than on your own property; if you dump this on land you own, it will be ineffective!
Once done, take a swig of water from the glass that originally held the water and let the deed sink in, then go about your day.
2) To change monetary flows for your benefit
Stir the pitcher until everything save the anise seed has dissolved, then let it steep for ~15 minutes. Once done, take the water pitcher outside and pour it out, in equal parts, at the four corners of your property, then ground and go about your day. Doing this will increase the flow of money to you, provided the spirits of the land accept your offering.
"Submerged you'll soon be
Unable to speak against mine
Do what I command or slowly drown
As the filth you spew fills your lungs."
Drink the tea, then bury the star anise on your property and go about your day. I would not recommend using this unless someone has truly wronged you and caused you ongoing problems. If used for anything less than necessary defense, it will bite you in the ass later.
So there you have it, a bit of water-dragon inspired magical fun. Use it as you see fit, and please do feel free to share your results. ;)
Cordially,
