"When you realize you’ve made a mistake, make amends immediately. It’s easier to eat crow while it’s still warm."
This is the burden of the Hanged Man, and many make the mistake of making themselves a martyr at this stage.
Instead, enchant for grace, give offerings, provide penance, make reparations, and take a metaphorical walk of shame. Then let yourself down from this cross and move forward. This stage is as much about absolving yourself of your sins as it is about making good on your promises and balming wounds you've caused.
